Greenville, South Carolina's Premiere Artisan Deck Builder

Most Decks Are Built to Pass Inspection — Not to Last.

The reality of modern deck construction has changed.

Today’s pressure-treated lumber is grown faster, milled differently, and treated under different environmental standards than it was decades ago. In humid climates like Greenville, that combination often results in structures that show movement, surface deterioration, or structural fatigue far sooner than homeowners expect.

Passing inspection doesn’t guarantee longevity.

If your deck is framed without accounting for moisture exposure, fastener compatibility, and long-term material behavior, you may be rebuilding in 10 to 15 years.

We believe your investment deserves more than that.

Engineered, Not Assembled.

A deck is more than boards and fasteners. It’s a structural system that must manage load, moisture, movement, and material interaction over decades.

We approach every project with engineering-level consideration. Load paths are evaluated. Spans are planned intentionally. Fastener compatibility and corrosion resistance are addressed before installation. Moisture management is integrated into detailing — not added as an afterthought.

You won’t see most of these decisions.

But you’ll benefit from them for years.

Because true craftsmanship begins long before the deck boards are installed.

Craftsmanship You Can Measure.

Craftsmanship isn’t just clean lines and tight miters.
It’s precision where it matters most.

It’s beams aligned intentionally to carry load without deflection. It’s hardware selected for long-term corrosion resistance. It’s fasteners driven straight, spaced correctly, and chosen for compatibility with the materials they secure.

It’s ledger connections detailed to manage moisture before it ever becomes a problem. It’s structural transitions executed cleanly so that movement, expansion, and contraction don’t compromise performance over time.

Much of this work will never be noticed by guests standing on your deck.

But you’ll feel the difference in the stability underfoot, the alignment of every element, and the confidence that comes from knowing it was built deliberately.

Because craftsmanship isn’t decorative.
It’s disciplined execution at every stage of the build.

Built with Modern Structural Systems.

The framing beneath your deck determines how it performs over time.

Modern structural systems like OC Lumber and New Castle Steel provide advantages that traditional wood framing cannot consistently match — including improved resistance to moisture absorption, reduced movement, and wood boring insects.

These materials allow us to design with greater flexibility while maintaining structural integrity. Cleaner lines. More predictable performance.

We don’t recommend modern framing because it’s new.

We recommend it because it performs.

And when longevity matters, performance matters.

OC Lumber

Recognized for Advancing Modern Framing.

Leadership in structure doesn’t go unnoticed.

Deck Van Gogh was invited to become one of only sixteen founding members across North America selected to join the Owens Corning Lumber Pro Build Team. The group was assembled to collaborate directly on the practical application of modern structural composite framing — not as marketers, but as field-tested builders.

As early adopters of OC structural composite lumber, we worked alongside forward-thinking builders nationwide to refine installation methods, explore new structural detailing strategies, and apply the material in ways that solved long-standing performance challenges in traditional wood framing.

Our involvement wasn’t about branding.

It was about advancing standards.

The structural systems we recommend today are informed by real-world collaboration, disciplined execution, and hands-on innovation — not theory.

When we speak about longevity, it comes from experience earned in the field.

Designed Around You — Built with Intention.

A great outdoor space doesn’t begin with materials.
It begins with understanding how you live.

We take time to define how your space will be used, how it connects to your home, and how it should feel years from now. From there, structural planning and design evolve together — ensuring form never compromises function.

Every dimension, elevation change, and material transition is considered in the context of both performance and personal experience.

The result isn’t just a custom deck.

It’s a space designed deliberately for you — and engineered to endure.

Where Discipline Meets Design.

These aren’t template builds.

Each project begins with a structural strategy — then evolves into a tailored outdoor environment that reflects how the homeowner lives.

Steel beams integrated for extended spans. Composite framing applied where longevity matters most. Layouts designed to complement architecture while preserving structural integrity.

What you see is craftsmanship.

What supports it is engineering.

The difference becomes clear the longer the structure performs.

Step 1

Connect with us!

New clients have two ways to connect with us to schedule their initial consultation. You can either call us or fill out a project request form on our website.

Step 2

Initial Consultation Call

During this call we discuss your goals with the project. This allows our team to start aligning our vision with yours.

Step 3

Project Site Visit

Before we can make a formal proposal, we must make a site visit. This visit allows our team to confirm our proposal is in full compliance with all local and state agencies. We also use this time to offer our creative perspectives on design and uses of space.

Step 4

Design Phase

At this point we create your design proposal. This requires our team to consolidate all of the feedback you have provided to create a design proposal as unique as your family.

Step 5

Build Phase

Once the design has been thoroughly refined, then our artists step in. Our experienced team of builders have been rigorously trained and certified to offer you only the highest quality of craftsmanship.

Step 6

Enjoy your space!

Once we leave, you can rest assured that your work of art will endure the test of time. Many of our designs feature products and systems with 50 year and Lifetime warranties.

Trusted by Clients Who Value Precision.

Our clients come to us looking for more than a surface-level upgrade.

They want clarity in process. Confidence in structure. And craftsmanship that reflects both discipline and detail.

Here’s what they’ve said about working with Deck Van Gogh:

Build Something That Lasts.

If you’re ready for a deck engineered with discipline and crafted without compromise, we’re ready to begin the conversation.

Your outdoor space should reflect the same level of care and intention as the home it connects to — designed uniquely for you, and built to perform for decades.

Let’s discuss your goals, your property, and the structural strategy that will support them long-term.
